Brynne Teall claims she was a fan of CHFT back to 1977 but it was in the 1980s when the relationship strengthened. Her life has been connected to Toronto’s co-op housing sector in many ways. She served as a delegate, a director, and ultimately CHFT’s president. Teall has been member of three co-ops – Windmill Line, Harbour Channel, and Harbourside, and has chaired meetings on CHFT’s behalf.
Brynne Teall worked for CHFT during the development of Parkview Co-op and then took a job managing Oak Street Co-op where she stayed for 34 years. This relationship connected her to the CoAction Staff Association, which she credits with giving her education, humour, and moral support. During her time at Oak Street, Brynne joined CHFT’s Aging in Place committee, a group dedicated to ensuring co-ops provide spaces for people of all ages to live safely within community. With such deep roots in the sector, it’s no wonder CHFT chose her as its Lifetime Board Member in 1999.
