Manager (full-time) – Marketview Housing Co-operative Inc., Toronto

We are a 112 unit non-profit housing provider located in the St. Lawrence Market area in downtown Toronto.We are looking for a full-time Manager to oversee and manage the day-to-day operations, under the direction of the Board of Directors.

Responsibilities:

  • Site supervision, and day-to-day management of Co-op business and administration
  • Oversight of administrative staff, maintenance staff and contractors (including applicable training)
  • Financial Management including operating and capital budget planning
  • Handling of legal issues, arrears, vacant units and subsidy administration
  • Membership and community engagement
  • Works with the City of Toronto funder and housing support organization as needed

Qualifications:

  • Post-secondary education (eg degree/college diploma) in a related field
  • The successful candidate will have a minimum of 3-5 years experience working in the non-profit social housing sector. Experience with coordinating and managing the operations of a housing co-operative is preferred but not required.
  • Knowledge of property management, co-op administration, financial management and operational planning.
  • Experience in supervising admin and maintenance staff and overseeing contractors where needed
  • Proficiency in MS Office (word-processing, spreadsheets), database and knowledge of NewViews accounting program.
  • Strong organizational, written and communication skills.
  • Ability to work with members in a diverse, multicultural community (including a strong sense of empathy and compassion in dealing with sensitive issues)

Hours/Compensation:

Competitive salary and benefits offered that are commensurate with experience

Job Type: Full-time, Permanent (some evening and weekend work may be required).

On-site parking and additional training is also included
