This is one of two afternoon session options for the in-person 2024 Fall Education Event on Saturday, November 2, 2024. The other option in this time slot is Kairos blanket exercise. The morning options are Ask the lawyer and Beyond participation.

Fee: Registration for the full-day Education Event is $130 per person for the first two participants. Any additional people who register from your co-op will receive a 50% discount.

The fee covers a choice of two workshops (one morning session and one afternoon session), as well as pastries and coffee or tea in the morning, two breaks and a hot lunch.

Summary
Noise complaints, unit clutter, and other disturbances are commonplace in shared housing, including co-operatives. In this session, we will review how to proactively manage behavioral issues amongst members. We’ll also review the steps involved in securing an eviction, if all else fails, and how to make your best case before the Landlord and Tenant Board. Finally, we will discuss the intersection of behavioral issues with grounds protected under the Human Rights Code to ensure that co-ops are properly fulfilling their duty to accommodate. Don’t miss this valuable primer on the threshold for behavioral evictions, offered by Hunter Stone, a paralegal at Iler Campbell LLP.

We have very limited space for this event and we expect it to sell out. Register today!
