Salary range: $70,000 to $80,000

The Opportunity

Reporting to the Property Manager – the Housing Manager is responsible for managing Member Services, Rent Geared to Income (RGI) administration, Customer Service, access to information and confidentiality, report preparation at City Park Co-operative and other responsibilities as deemed necessary by the Property Manager and/or the City Park Board of Directors.  This position has one direct report, the Housing Coordinator and may supervise the front of house clerical staff.

  • Manage the overall RGI process including: annual reviews, calculating housing charges, maintaining all RGI files and mandatory report preparation.
  • Maintain and update waiting lists for internal, external and for priority moves.
  • Provide monthly vacancy, move-in and move-out reports. Coordinate the move-in and move-out schedule with the Maintenance Manager and Security Manager. This includes, parking, storage space allocation and rental.
  • Support the Member Selection Committee, by identifying candidates and prepare required background material for meetings. This also includes the follow-through on decisions by the Member Selection Committee and the Board of Directors.
  • Administers the Notice to Appear (NTA) process.
  • Manages and tracks the member request and complaint process.
  • Preparation and execution of member occupancy agreements.
  • Manage and maintain the membership list.

Education & Experience:

  • RGI certification and RGI management experience required.
  • Post-secondary education related to the property management, office administration and/or human resources is an asset.
  • 5 years of management experience and/or relevant experience with a large residential co-op or other residential building/complex focused on leasing, RGI management, and HR. Experience with City of Toronto Waitlist Management training and LTB proceedings is an asset.

Specialized Skills, Knowledge & Abilities:

  • Demonstrated knowledge of co-operative housing operations in the province of Ontario.
  • Knowledge of YARDI management software and other relevant HR and IT software are also an asset.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills.
  • Demonstrated oral and written communication skills to respond to issues, provide recommendations, and prepare reports to internal and external stakeholders (a written skills test will be administered).
  • Knowledge of general business practices including HR, IT, leases, tendering for projects etc.
  • Demonstrated ability to exercise discretion and judgement when handling confidential employee or corporate information.
  • Demonstrated ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines and prioritize multiple concurrent and competing priorities.
  • Knowledge with LTB procedures and the eviction process.
