This is one of two afternoon session options for the Spring 2026 In-Person Education Program on Saturday, May 2, 2026. The other option in this time slot is Safeguarding our homes and communities: climate adaptation for housing co-ops. The morning workshops are Preventative maintenance and Governance tools.
Fee: If your co-op is a member of CHFT, PHCHF or your local federation (or CHF Canada if there is no
local federation) registration for the Education Event is $110 per person.
The fee covers a choice of two workshops (one morning session and one afternoon session), as well as pastries and coffee or tea in the morning, two breaks and a hot lunch.
We have very limited space for this event and we expect it to sell out. Registration will close at 9:00 AM two days before the in-person education event. Register today!
If you have any questions about registration, contact Denese Gascho at reception@coophousing.com. If you have questions about the workshops, contact Naomi Cho at naomi@coophousing.com.
Facilitator: Shawn Conway
Summary
Co-op members and staff sometimes find themselves in or around conflict without what is needed to address the conflict in the moment.
This workshop will offer some self-management and conflict de-escalation techniques. We will focus on practicing and adapting the techniques in a variety of situations where tension, disagreement and conflict are present.
Participants are encouraged to bring their own scenarios and experiences in order to build their confidence and toolbox for working with conflict.
