This is one of two morning session options for the Spring 2026 In-Person Education Program on Saturday, May 2, 2026. The other option in this time slot is Preventative maintenance. The afternoon workshops are Safeguarding our homes and communities: climate adaptation for housing co-ops and Practicing your skills in addressing conflict.

Fee: If your co-op is a member of CHFT, PHCHF or your local federation (or CHF Canada if there is no
local federation) registration for the Education Event is $110 per person.

The fee covers a choice of two workshops (one morning session and one afternoon session), as well as pastries and coffee or tea in the morning, two breaks and a hot lunch.

We have very limited space for this event and we expect it to sell out. Registration will close at 9:00 AM two days before the in-person education event. Register today!

If you have any questions about registration, contact Denese Gascho at reception@coophousing.com. If you have questions about the workshops, contact Naomi Cho at naomi@coophousing.com.

Summary

Choosing the right tool for the job makes the difference between building a house that can withstand an earthquake and one that wouldn’t stand a chance. Don’t use any tools and you don’t have a house. The same is true for effective governance in a housing co-op. Luckily, we have tools for all the governance jobs, and we’re ready to share them with you!

Come and learn tools that you can use to support successful governance in your housing co-op. Choose from 15 tools live within the workshop that will meet your co-op’s needs. It could be a meeting agreement, a member satisfaction survey or a good governance test. Try them out and discuss how and when you can use them.

This workshop is based on a workshop developed by CHF BC.
