Summary

Have you noticed how gossip can act like a virus in a housing co-op community—spreading quickly, eroding trust, and creating tension among both members and managers? Whether you’re a co-op member or a manager, dealing with the ripple effects of rumours and negativity can feel overwhelming. Yet, just like any virus, gossip can be isolated, treated, and ultimately eradicated with the right tools.

This workshop will provide both co-op members and managers with practical strategies to address and eliminate gossip at its source. Together, you’ll learn how to recognize the signs of gossip’s spread, distinguish it from healthy communication, to create an open, respectful environment that discourages negativity. This workshop will empower everyone in the co-op to foster a culture of trust, transparency, and collaboration that strengthens the entire community.
